It's pretty common for specific questions or answers to be hyper-specific to a specific boat. Maybe it is specific to the exact year that the boat was built. Or if the issue is about a part (say, a water pump), then it might be about the precise brand of pump. It would be great to organize and search and filter by make and brands of boats and products.

It would be awesome to have a way to talk directly with an expert on the issue I am trying to solve or the boat that I have. Is there a way to locate real people to have a conversation with -- either live or post/email exchange?

In each post that describes maintenance or a type of repair, list all of the tools that would be needed. It would be great to also include photos and links for more complete description and understanding of what would be needed to succeed at the maintenance that is described in the post.

Sometimes you just don't know the exact name of the part you are trying to fix or replace. You know the system (plumbing, electrical, engine) and can describe it and photograph it, but you don't know what to search for online to find answers. Create an online tool to identify the part (or brand or model number). Or quickly get expert help to identify it.

It usually helps to have pictures to show exactly the part that is being described. It would be even better if you could draw on the pictures to point to the location being described. Videos help to show a technique for a fix and also because sometimes you need to see something in 3 dimensions that photos can't quite handle.
